OPPONENTS OF INCREASED PROPERTY TAXES will be heard by the Department of Local Government Finance Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. in the commissioners'meeting room on the second floor of the courthouse. The tax rate would be increased by virtue of a proposed ordinance to re-establish the cumulative capital improvement fund for jail improvements initiated by the Carroll County Council.
CARROLL ELEMENTARY Market Day orders may be picked up in the elementary gym on Oct. 25 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Delphi Public Library will host a two-part introduction to PUBLIC SPEAKINGWORKSHOP Nov. 2 and 16 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Gerber Globe Valve Room. MODERNS EXTENSION HOMEMAKERS will meet Oct. 26 at the Stone House Restaurant in Delphi at 11:30 a.m. for lunch. The meeting will follow at the home of Betty Huffman.
The DEER CREEK COMMUNITY CENTER will have its annual meeting Oct. 28. There will be a breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. with the meeting following. This is an opportunity to pay annual membership fees. Grissom Reserve Base will be displaying a KC-135R Stratotanker cockpit and boom on the basketball court from 8 a.m. until noon.
