Coffee drinking, cobbler-eating, current events, consultations, speculation and reminiscing are just a few of the things that have been networked around the old wood pedestal table and mis-matched folding chairs at the back of Holden's Pharmacy, Delphi. Member Tony Berto laughed as he explained "it's not political, it's usually just bull." The round-table Klatch was established by Frank Fitch in about 1970, to quiet complaints about his having removed the soda bar from the pharmacy. With the closing of Holden's approaching, Klatchmembers held their last official gathering on Tuesday morning.

Plans are in the works for two new branch banks to open in Flora.

The Camden State Bank of Camden and The First Bank of Carroll County, Burlington, have filed applications with Indiana's Department of Financial Institutions for approval.

Originating often as a prankster's joke, the destruction of county road signs is costing the county thousands of dollars each year.

Many Delphi folks thought gremlins had gotten into their clocks Saturday night and decided we had experienced enough of daylight time. Electric clocks were running but an hour and 22 minutes late. It made a wonderful excuse for missing church. The gremlins were acquitted of the charge when Public Service workmen admitted they were making a change over in their lines and it took an hour and 22 minutes to do it. No complaints were filed when it was learned that workmen were out in those early hours performing a duty for the community's welfare while most of its residents slept.

Representatives of the rightof way department of the state highway commission, visiting the city yesterday afternoon, declared that a contract for the paving of U.S. road 25 between Lafayette and Delphi will probably be awarded in the October letting.

The big all metal Ford TriMotored airplane was on display at the 4-H Fall Festival. The plane was displayed at the Girard Field, one mile south of Delphi. The charge for the flight was $2.50 per seat. With a coupon, the festival organizers reduced the price by one dollar. Children under 10 were able to take an "air outing" for $1.

The business men of Flora have arranged with the Ockley band to give weekly concerts in this city for the remainder of the season, beginning next Wednesday evening promptly at 8 o'clock pm. The Ockley band is one of the best musical organizations in the county and will furnish our people with a series of good concerts. They play all up to date selections. Don't forget the date, and come out and have a good time.
