Betty Maxine Baker, 81, of Frankfort and a resident of Mulberry Health & Retirement Community the past four months, died July 19, 2006, in the healthcare facility.

Born Sept. 17, 1924, in Frankfort, she was the daughter of Amel Copas and Queen (Pence) Copas Van Tyle. She married Howard Paul Mullinax on May 21, 1950, in Frankfort and he preceded her in death Oct. 6, 1956. She then married Hulbert D. Baker on April 5, 1976, in Frankfort and he preceded her in death Oct. 26, 1986.

She was a member of Zion Apostolic Tabernacle in Frankfort.

Surviving are one son, Marvin L. Mullinax (wife: Diane) of Frankfort; two daughters, Darlena M. Dean (husband: Ronald) of Indianapolis, and Mary Ann Mullinax of Frankfort; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Rita Tower of Ohio, Randy Baker of Florida, and Terry and Edward Baker, both of Frankfort; six stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat grandchild.

Also surviving are a brother, Marion Copas of Portage, and three sisters, Jenny Dieterle of Michigan, Leola Burns of Flora, and Patty Irons of Tennessee.

Preceding her in death were her two husbands, a brother and a son.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Zion Apostolic Tabernacle. Burial was in Bunnell Cemetery, Frankfort.

Memorials are appreciated to the family to assist with final expenses.
