David A. Shanks
David Alan Shanks, 41, of Bringhurst, died at 3:25 p.m. July 22, 2006, at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis. He had been in ill health for a year.
Born Nov. 25, 1964, in Lafayette, he was the son of Richard Dale and Maxine Pullen Shanks. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1983 and from Purdue University in 1987.
On July 11, 1987, at the Flora United Methodist Church, he married Linda Raney, who survives.
Mr. Shanks had worked for 18 years as an electrical engineer at Delphi Electronics in Kokomo.
He was a member of the Flora United Methodist Church and the Burlington Kiwanis Club, and a past member of the Burlington Park Board.
He enjoyed running.
Surviving with his wife are his mother of Flora; a son, Matthew Shanks, and a daughter, Meagan Shanks, both at home; and a sister, Jane Messemer of Atlanta, Ga.
Services were held Tuesday morning at the Flora United Methodist Church. Pastor Larry DeVos officiated. Burial was at Paint Creek Cemetery, Camden.
