The filing deadline to run for a county office is today at noon. Candidates who did not file to run in the primary election continued to register at the county clerk's office for the November general election until the end of the day Friday.

New candidates slated for the general election as of 5 p.m. Friday for township trustee are: Jackson - Jason Endress (R). Madison Dwaine K. Ward (R). Rock Creek Donald L. Leisure (R) and Brian G. Nipple (D). Tippecanoe Marlene Joseph (R).

Candidates filing for township boards: Deer Creek Melissa A. Darling (R) and Mary L. Clifford (D). Democrat Diana M. Hill (R). Carrollton Tobe Leazenby (R) and Richard L. Stout (R). Jefferson Gene Cochanower (R). Madison Neal Anderson (D) and William Maxwell (R). Rock Creek Gerald E. Clear (R). Washington James T. Knight (R) and Scott E. Hile (R).

Richard N. DePoy (D) is filed for county council, District 1, and James R. Huffer (D) for county prosecutor.
