Auto Express Pony finishes regular season strong

The Delphi Auto Express Pony baseball team finished regular season with a 13-4 record with wins over Camden 9-5 and Carroll Blue 6-4 before losing to Clinton Central. Dustin Salyer picked up the win against Camden, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits with 5 strikeouts and a walk in 4 innings of play. Adam Cunningham pitched 2 innings, giving up 3 runs, 1 hit with 2 strikeouts and 3 walks. Kris Bender got the save, giving up 2 hits and a walk. Losing pitcher Tyler Willis gave up 9 runs on 10 hits, with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts in a complete game.

Neil Snoebeger had 2 doubles, a triple, 3 RBIs, and 3 runs, Salyer had 2 hits, an RBI and a run, Tanner Cripe had a double, an RBI and a run, Andrew Burton had a hit, an RBI and a run. For Camden, Trevor Perry had 2 hits and 2 RBIs, Caleb Bieghler had a hit and a run, Matt Brown a hit and a run, and Jason Stewart a hit and a run.

Against Carroll Blue, Cripe picked up the win, allowing 4 runs on 5 hits with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts. Snoberger got the save allowing 1 hit, walking one and striking out 8. Snoeberger had 3 hits, 3 RBIs and a run, Braden Atwood had a single, a double and an RBI, Zack Condon got a triple and an RBI and Kris Bender a hit and an RBI.

For Carroll, losing pitcher Travis Marvin gave up 6 runs on 9 hits with a walk and 5 strikeouts in a complete game. Drew Yoder had a single, a triple, and 2 runs, Jordan Brumbaugh 2 hits, 2 RBIs and a run, Marvin a hit and a run, and Steven Keith a hit.

In the third game of the week, Delphi lost to Clinton Central 117. Delphi committed 12 errors with all of Central's runs being unearned. Sayler gave up 4 hits and had 2 strikeouts in 2 innings. Bender pitched 3 innings, allowed 2 hits with 3 walks and 3 strikeouts. Cripe pitched one inning, striking out one. Sayler had 2 hits, 2 runs and an RBI, Justin Snider had a hit, 2 RBIs and 2 runs, Neil Snoeberger 2 RBIs, and Andrew Burton a hit and a run.

The Hoosier Heartland tourney started this week with Camden at Delphi, with the winner playing Frankfort Blue at Frankfort, Carroll White at Clinton Central, and Carroll Blue hosting Rossville.
