Pet parade is July 3 in Flora
The Flora Library will have a pet parade on July 3 as part of its summer reading program.
Registration will be from 9:3010 a.m. Judging will be at 10, followed by a short parade through downtown Flora.
Prize categories are (one each for Dogs, one each for Cats): Best Costume, Funniest, Prettiest, Biggest, Smallest Oldest, Youngest and Most Unusual (all pets other than Dogs and Cats.)
Caged pets (birds, hamsters, etc.) and "bowled" (fish) pets will be displayed in the library's Program Room. Water will be provided for the animals. Pets will need to be on a leash or confined. Pet owners will be responsible for controlling pets.
The pet parade will be held even if it is sprinkling, drizzling, looking like rain, etc., so be sure to wear a raincoat or bring an umbrella. If it is "raining cats and dogs," the parade will be cancelled. If in doubt, call the library after 9 a.m. on parade day (967-3912.)
