Young Wranglers
Five local 4-Hers competed in the Area 8 Horse Show held at Tipton. Award winners were:
Molly Craig -Western gelding Halter 2nd place.
Mekenzie Gear Jr. English Showmanship 6th, English Halter 3rd, Jr. English Equitation 3rd, and Jr. English Pleasure 1st.
Todd Hodgin Pony Halter 2nd, Sr. Showmanship 4th, Halter Mares 2nd, and Halter geldings 1st.
Emma Jackson Jr. English Showmanship 3rd, Jr. English Equitation 1st, Jr. English Pleasure 2nd.
Kylie Wagoner Jr. English Showmanship 2nd, Jr. English Halter 2nd.
Sewing/clothing workshops
There will be a prejudging open house on June 22 from 5:30 to 8p.m. at the Bringhurst United Methodist Church. It will be like an open house, where members can come at anytime to bring garments and patterns for fashion revue description or consumer clothing outfits and notebooks.
The 4-H leaders will be working with 4-Hers one-on-one to answer questions, help finish writing fashion revue descriptions or answer record sheet questions, help solve problems, and provide positive feedback and helpful suggestions for the upcoming judging and modeling practice for first-year members.
4-H sewing judging, fashion revue
Judging for sewing wearable, sewing non-wearable, fashion revue, and consumer clothing will be June 29 at the Burlington Community Building. 4-Hers should register as follows:
+ 8 a.m. - Consumer Clothing - all divisions
+ 8 a.m. - Sewing Wearable/ Fashion Revue - Junior Division (grades 3 - 7)
+ 10 a.m. - Sewing Nonwearable - all divisions
+ 11:30 a.m. - Sewing Wearable/Fashion Revue Senior Division (grades 8 and above)
4-Hers participating in Consumer Clothing or Fashion Revue should send their modeling descriptions to the Extension Office.
4-H scrapbooking
4-Hers enrolled in the scrapbook project are encouraged to attend a question and answer meeting on June 26 at the 4-H Community Building in Flora at 6:30 p.m. Bring scrapbooks and questions.
