Rev. Marion D. Bothof

Rev. Marion D. Bothof, 69, of Delphi, died June 5, 2006, at his residence.

Born April 5, 1937, in Bayden, Iowa, he was the son of Gerrit and Johanna Zeyelmaker Bothof. He married Margie Dunk on April 30, 1994, and she survives.

A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1958.

Rev. Bothof served the Southern Baptist Church in several communities, including Delphi. He and his wife were charter members of the Twin Lakes Southern Baptist Church in Monticello.

Surviving with his wife are his mother of Belgrade, Minn.; three daughters, Patricia Ann Hopkins (husband: James) and Cynthia Marie Gibson, both of Jonesville, Va., and Judith Lynn Parks of Mulberry; two sons, William Gerrit Bothof (wife: Debbie) of Middlesboro, Ky., and Gerrit John Bothof of Rose Hill, Va.; a stepson, Kevin Fesler (wife: Britta) of Chesaning, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Jenifer Begley (husband: Jack) of Delphi; four sisters, Bertha English (husband Vence) of Lakewood, Calif., Connie Thompson (husband: James) of Phoenix, Ariz., Hattie McCann (husband: Cliff) of Belgrade, Minn., and Donna Hurtzberg (husband: Neil) of Paynesville, Minn.; three brothers, John Bothof of Arizona City, Ariz., Willard Bothof (wife: Jean) of Tolleson, Ariz., and David Bothof (wife: Sue) of Pewaukee, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and one-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father, a son, a brother and a sister.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi, with Pastor Ross Terry officiating. Burial will be in Pyrmont Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Ladoga Baptist Church or to the North American Mission, South Baptist Convention.
