          Maxine James Billiard, 91, of Northwood Commons in Kokomo, passed away at 6 p.m. Thursday afternoon, June 1, 2006, at the residence of her son in Kokomo. She was formerly of Flora. She was born Nov. 27, 1914, in Howard County, to Charles E. and Marie (McNeal) James. She graduated from Burlington High School in 1932 and attended Purdue University. On May 6, 1939, she married Burton Billiard in Flora, and he preceded her in death on Aug. 26, 1997. Mrs. Billiard was a homemaker. She was a member of the Burlington Church of Christ and the Friendly Circle Extension Homemakers Club. Surviving are two daughters; Myrna L. Billiard, of Oak Park, Ill, and Joanna K. Billiard of West Lafayette; one son, James B. Billiard of Kokomo; four grandchildren, Dawn Gundersen of Weston, Fla., Tara Turton of Carmel, Ann-Marie Hart (husband: Dave) of Denver, Colo., and Ashley Billiard of Indianapolis; and four greatgrandchildren. Two brothers and one daughter preceded her in death. Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Burlington Church of Christ with Pastor Timothy J. Pohlman officiating. Burial was at Beech Grove Cemetery in Sharon. Memorial contributions may be made to either the March of Dimes or to Burlington Church of Christ.

Reinke Funeral Home, Flora, was in charge of arrangements.
