Camden motto, logo chosen
Officers for Camden celebration Camden is beginning to plan for its 175-year celebration in 2007. Comet photo by Jennifer Archibald Camden will be 175 years old in 2007. A motto and logo for the celebration were revealed at a kick-off meeting Monday night at the Camden United Methodist Church.
The motto will be: "A Town of Loyalty and Pride." The black and gold logo was designed by the officers in charge of the event, and printed by Brian Foreman.
Both the motto and the logo will be used by the town over the next year, leading up to the big event on July 21 and 22, 2007.
Officers are Jeff Sieber, president; Deb Foreman, vice president; Pat Casserly, secretary; and Dan Casserly, treasurer.

A quilt donated by Jane Penn will be raffled off to get some starting money.
A booth will be set up at the 4-H Fair, Camden Tractor Pull, Old Settlers, and Camden Fall Festival.
Twenty-five individuals representing businesses, organizations and interested citizens attended the kick-off meeting. It is the hoped that all businesses and organizations will sponsor some event, allowing the celebration to be a success without a large budget.
Black and gold banners with the event logo will be purchased to hang from the street lights on Main Street as soon as the Christmas decorations come down the first of the year.
The next meeting will be in late July or early August to set more activities.
