Camden American Legion will meet Monday evening at the Legion Home.

Camden's annual spring clean-up will be May 18. Residents are asked to have items for pick-up at the curb early that morning.

Senior Sunday will be observed May 21 at the First Baptist Church. Also on Sunday, canned goods and other items collected for the Edna Martin Center will be dedicated. A time of fellowship with donuts, coffee and milk will be held between morning worship and Sunday School.

Dorcas Missionary Society of the Baptist Church met May 4 in the church fellowship hall with nine members present. Helen Yeager gave devotions and the lesson was presented by Virginia Shonk. Bible Book of the Month is Nahum. Hostesses were Anna Case and Jimpsie Doyel.

Students at Camden Elementary School participated in the Boxtops for Education program, earning $1,458.80. Monthly winners were Natalyn Blocher, Britany Werner, Sidney Fisher, Zachary Haines, Myke Roth, Hunter Mote, Adam Shanks, Natasha Calisto, Dax Kendall, Amanda Cohee, Shelbi Fisher, and Brittany Dunbar. Girls beat the boys in April. Room winners for the year were: 1st - Mrs. Richardson's class, 1,528; 2nd - Ms. Minier's a.m. class, 1,434; 3rd - Mrs. Foster's class, 1,406; 4th - Mrs. Weckerly's class, 1,378; 5th - Mrs. Schwarzkopf's class, 1,370.

Saturday evening guests of Frank Daniel and Shanell Whitfield to celebrate Chelsea's eighth birthday were Jerry and Diane Haworth and granddaughter, Katlin, and friend, and Julie Gordon, all of Kokomo, Alyssa Hartman of Camden, John David and Karen Whitfield, and Frank and Mary Whitfield.

In celebration of Mother's Day, Frank and Mary Whitfield had Sunday dinner at the home of their daughter and husband, Mary Frances and Bob Stilson, of West Lafayette. Joining them were John David and Karen Whitfield, Frank Daniel and Shanell Whitfield, Zackery and Chelsea.
