Sanderson, Union and Church streets will be closed June 3 for the annual Camden Youth Day Parade.
The next meeting of the committee planning the town's 175th anniversary celebration for 2007 will be June 5 at 7 p.m. at the
United Methodist Church. Town Council President Ralph Rohrabaugh requested that all clubs and organizations have representation on the committee. Committee officers are: Jeff Sieber, president; Deb Foreman, vice president; Pat Casserly, secretary treasurer.
Residents Jeff and Deb Dillon inquired about the town's policy regarding driving golf carts on town streets. They were told the town has no specific ordinance. Town attorney Anne Briggs will check into liability concerns and with other communities that have policies regarding this issue. Mrs. Dillon said she had been stopped by police and was told not to drive her cart on the streets, but cited that others have been allowed to do so. She is requesting no restrictions for golf carts.
Clerk-Treasurer Pat Casserly reported that she is checking into tree and mulch prices for the water tower area as stipulated in the grant that was received.
Rohrabaugh announced that Jerry Snavely is securing bids for a new dump truck for the town which he will present at the June or July meeting.
Rohrabaugh reported that Camden received a 2004 Water Quality Award from the Center for Disease Control.
