Operation Round-Up grants are given

Carroll County REMC Operation Round-up has awarded $9,500 in grants to five entities for the first quarter of 2006.

Carroll County Heritage Tourism received $1,500 to aid in the design and printing of the second edition of the Carroll County Tour Guide.

Carroll County elementary schools received $2,000 to bring professional speaker Kay Davidson in to talk to elementary school teachers on writing strategies and effective writing methods.

Delphi Preservation Society was awarded $2,000 to aid in the restoration of the Lathrope-Ruffing Opera House in downtown Delphi.

Camden-Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Department received $2,000 to replace outdated fire training materials.

Delphi Tri-Township Volunteer Fire Department was given $2,000 to purchase reflective fire safety signs to be displayed throughout Carroll County.
