Carroll FFA excels in three judging events

Carroll FFA recently participated in three district Career Development Events. Four teams will be going on to state competition.

Team and individual placings are given below.

Livestock judging

Three Senior Reasons Teams and three Junior Non-Reasons Teams participated at the District Livestock Judging Contest in Howard County.

The Senior Teams placed 4th, 13th, and 16th. Sarah Brown was the 7th highest individual. Members of the 4th place team, moving onto state, are Sarah Brown, Kara Overholser, Desiray Simmons, and Justin Moffitt.

The Junior Teams placed 4th, 5th, and 7th. Jonathan Bush was the 8th highest individual

The State Contest is May 20 at Purdue.

Dairy Judging

Four Dairy Teams were in the District Dairy Judging Contest, held in Howard County. Carroll had the top two FFA teams that will be moving onto state.

Members of the 1st place team were Kevin Knaus, Travis Martin, and Megan Ayres. The team placed 3rd over all the FFA and 4-H teams.

The 2nd place FFA team members were Brian Griffin, Sarah Griffin, and Bryce Ayres. This team was 4th place overall. Sarah Griffin was the 3rd highest individual, and Kevin Knaus was the 6th highest individual.

The State Contest is May 20 at Purdue.

Horse and Pony Judging

Two Horse and Pony Reasons Teams took part in the District Horse and Pony Contest in Grant County.

The Senior Team placed 3rd and will be moving onto state. Team members were Sarah Brown, Sarah Griffin, Jill Griffin, and Malena Zook. Sarah Brown was the 7th highest individual, and Sarah Griffin was the 9th highest individual.

The Junior Team placed 3rd overall. Team members were Molly Craig, Emily Fritz, Samantha Pickens, and Lauren

Werner. Molly Craig was the 3rd highest individual, Emily Fritz was the 9th highest individual, and Samantha Pickens was the 10th highest individual

The State Contest is May 13 at Purdue.
