D A V I D HEBER, a student at Faith C h r i s t i a n School in Lafayette, was selected for m e m b e r s h i p into the

N a t i o n a l

Society of High School Scholars. The society recognizes the top scholars in the nation and invites only those who have achieved superior academic excellence.

"On behalf of NSHSS, I am honored to recognize the hard work, sacrifice and commitment that David has demonstrated to achieve this exceptional level of academic excellence," said NSHSS founder and chairman Claes Nobel.

The focus of NSHSS is to connect members with resources and opportunities such as scholarships, academic competitions, participation in programs offered by educational partners and online forums.

David is the son of Al and Gloria Heber of Delphi.

NATHAN TRAPP has been named as an honorable mention for the Agriculture in America Essay Contest. Trapp is a student at Delphi Community High School.

Contestants entered an original work addressing the theme of How Agriculture is Important to My Life and My Future. The contest is an annual event sponsored by Archer Daniels Midland Company and American Heritage. Trapp's essay addressed the important role that agriculture played in his family.

NATHANIEL HEBER was honored as an outstanding student scholar at the Indiana University Founders Day ceremony on April 2.

In a separate ceremony, Heber Heber was initiated into IU's Mortar Board Senior Honor Society, for which less than one percent of all juniors are selected. He was elected president of the honor society. The society focuses on service, scholarship and leadership.

He is the son of Al and Gloria Heber of Delphi.

GREGORY A. DUNBAR JR. graduated from Indiana State University on May 6, with a bachelor of science degree. He majored in business management and minored in operations management analysis.

Dunbar was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Theta Omicrom Chapter; recipient of Chairman of the Semester Award 2005; recipient of Pi Kappa Alpha Commitment Award 2005; a member of Delta Sigma Pi, Delta Tau Chapter; recipient of the Chad A. Thiemon Scholarship; recognized by the Sycamore Outreach for his volunteer efforts and scholastic leadership; and a recipient of the Distinguished Outstanding Performance Award.

Dunbar worked at ISU as a building manager.

He is the son of Greg and Kathy Dunbar of Delphi.

STERLING CARTER of Flora was recognized at the annual Wabash College Student Awards and Honors Program. He received the Erminie Leonardis Theater History Award.

The Leonardis Theater History Award is presented to a student who, in the estimation of the Theater Department faculty, has done outstanding work in the study of theater history, dramatic literature or criticism.

Carter, a junior, is the son of Byron and Wyndham TraxlerCarter, Flora.

ARTHUR DICK "DICKIE" BISHOP graduated May 6 from Ball State University, College of Communication, Information, and Media, with a Master of Arts in Journalism. He is the son of Dick T. and Melissa Bishop, Flora. Bishop now resides in Missoula, Montana.
