The Delphi Oracles split games in a Hoosier Conference double header over the weekend with Benton Central. The Bison came to play, defeating the Oracles 11-0 in game one. Kyle Bender got the loss on the mound for the Oracles.

In game two the Oracles won 21 behind another strong pitching performance by Scott Brothers. Brothers struck out 12 and allowed only four hits in seven innings. He gave up a run in the first inning and shut the Bison down the rest of the game. He also had two hits, as did Kory Banes. The game was tied going into the seventh inning. Josh Mullin singled to right to start the inning. Brock Zarse bunted back

to the pitcher, who forced Mullin at second. The second baseman tried to double off Zarse at first and threw the ball away. Zarse ended up at second.

On a wild pitch Zarse ended up at third and Banes walked leaving the two at first and third. Scott Seabolt was the batter. The BC coach entered his ace left hander to close the door. On the second pitch to Seabolt the Oracles' plan was to squeeze bunt the run home. The lefty threw to first. Zarse broke for home and beat the throw from the first baseman at the plate, scoring the winning run.

The Oracles are now 2-2 in Hoosier Conference play and 6-10 on the season.

Vs. Tri County

The Oracles dropped another game earlier last week to Tri County 11-10. The Oracles' season record is now 59 with some big Hoosier Conference games coming up.

Scott Brothers and Kory Banes led the Oracles in offense with a couple of hits a each. Ryan Replogle had three runs batted in. Mike Myers had his first start of the year on the mound, but Kyle Swarzkopf took the loss on the mound.

The Oracles fell behind in the seventh when a Tri County batter hit a three-run home run to put them up 11-7 in the seesaw game. The Oracles came right back to score in their half of the seventh, but just did not score enough.
