By Ron Francis Highway Dept. superintendent

Time sure is flying by. It is time for another road work update. The department has concluded berm removal for the spring and will start back up in the fall with the plan to work on the gravel roads in the northwest part of the county.

For the next two to three weeks the department will be concentrating on potholes. These will include potholes that are called in, as well as going road-by-road, covering every road in the county.

Also planned is to start the preliminary work for paving 1100N and working on several smaller projects prior to the start of our paving season.

The department has received several calls requesting dust control. Calcium chloride will be sprayed 300 feet in front of each house on gravel roads. Those who would like to purchase additional allocations or do not want dust control are asked to call the highway department at 574-967-4244.
