Hazel M. Liebert
Hazel M. Liebert, 91, of Lafayette, died at 12:09 p.m. April 25, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.
Born May 19, 1914, in Laconia, Ind., she was the daughter of Frank A. and Laura Crosler Liebert.
She graduated from Delphi High School and Lafayette Business College and lived in the Lafayette area most of her life.
She had been employed at Harry and Evelyn Trimble's Paint Store in Lafayette for a number of years before going to work at First Federal Savings and Loan. She retired as branch manager after working there 24 years.
Miss Liebert was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Delphi, Tourist Club, and Purdue Women's Club, and was formerly on the Duncan Hall Board of Directors. She also volunteered at St. Elizabeth Hospital and had 9,000 volunteer hours at Home Hospital.
She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and knitting.
Surviving are one brother, Frank A. Liebert, Dallas, Texas; and 12 nieces and nephews, Marjorie Franklin, Susie McCormick, David Liebert, Jim Liebert, and Stephen M. Smith, all of Delphi; Sharon Williams, Fishers; Ronald K. Liebert and Carol Ann Lucke, both of Indianapolis; Linda Maller, New York; Mary Albright, Arizona; Janet Walther, Denton, Texas; and Laura Beth Pickard, Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Virgil and Kenneth Liebert, and a sister, Shirley Smith.
Services were April 28 at Soller-Baker Chapel, Lafayette, with Rev. Louis A. Sandos officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Delphi.
