Florence T. Parks
Florence T. "Jo" Parks, 82, of Delphi, formerly of G a l v e s t o n , passed away at 5:35 p.m. April
23, 2006, at St.
E l i z a b e t h Hospital, Lafayette.
Born Aug. 14, 1943, in Kokomo, she was the daughter of Bert and Nina Ulrey Thompson. She married John A. Parks on June 12, 1943, in Kokomo, and he died June 12, 1994.
Mrs. Parks retired in 1979 from Meedco in Galveston.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Galveston and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
She was a former member of the Galveston Town Board and Board of Zoning Appeals, and was a former EMT for the Galveston Volunteer Fire Department.
Surviving are a son, James D. Parks of Galveston; a daughter, Joselyn Miller (husband: Ted) of Delphi; four grandchildren, John Parks (wife: Jennifer) of Logansport, Ronda Hughes (husband: Jeremy) of Galveston, Barrett Miller and Amanda Miller, both of Delphi; a sister, Ellen Bayliss (husband: Leroy) of Sherwood, Ohio; a niece, Jean Hubbard (husband: Tom) of Defiance, Ohio; three great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-granchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a son, John Joseph Parks.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, at MurrayWeaver Funeral Home, Galveston, with the Rev. Warren Purcell officiating. Burial will be at Galveston Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Galveston Volunteer Fire Department.
