George returns to Carroll football program
Comet staff report
Carroll's football program is back under the leadership of 59-year-old Rick George.
George was Carroll's varsity football coach from 1979 through the 1986 season, compiling a 59-win, 24-loss record in eight seasons.
Carroll did not have a teaching position open to go along with the coaching position. But because George retired from teaching in 2002, that was not a problem.
George brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge of Carroll football.
After leaving Carroll, George was head coach at Indianapolis Pike from 1987-88, Lafayette Central Catholic from 19891991, and Tri-County from 1992-2001. Since 2003 he has been West Lafayette's offensive coordinator.
His overall win-loss record over 22 varsity seasons is 13099.
