State to fund home renovations
Area IV Agency of Aging and Community Action Programs, Inc. will give $169,753 for home rehabilitations in this area.
The funding comes from the state level and is intended for the rehabilitation of homes or the elderly, persons with disabilities and families with children under the age of six who do not have the resources to pay for needed repairs.
The funding was approved by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.
"IHCDA is committed to finding flexible funding for special needs populations," said Lt. Governor Becky Skillman, who serves as chairman of IHCDA.
"This year, funding for owneroccupied rehabilitation increased from $2.5 million to $7 million. This increase marks our commitment to create habitable home for all Hoosiers, no matter their circumstance."
