Mary Catherine Shively Ivie, 81, of Salida, Calif., died March 21, 2006, at Memorial Medical Center in Modesto, Calif.

She was a native of Bringhurst and had lived in Salida since 1946.

Mrs. Ivie was a homemaker and had owned Ivie's Variety and Gifts for eight years.

She was a member of Ripon Grace Brethren Church.

Surviving are her husband, Joel Elisha Ivie of Salida; two sons, Joel E. Ivie II of Bellevue, Wash., and Michael A. Ivie of Bozeman, Mont.; a brother, Robert L. Shively of Delphi; a sister, AnnaBelle Eller of Flora; and four grandchildren.

Services were held March 25 at Ripon Grace Brethren Church. Burial was in Wood Colony Cemetery, Modesto.

Doris Meek-Kuszmaul

Doris Faye Meek-Kuszmaul, 89, of Camden passed away at 12:50 a.m. April 2, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.

She was born on April 19, 1916, in Carroll County to Ross E. and Cora May Heiland Meek. On Nov. 13, 1938, she married Ralph Kuszmaul in her parent's home. He preceded her in death in 1974.

A homemaker, Mrs. Kuszmaul was a member of the Deer Creek Presbyterian Church where she had served as deacon, elder, Sunday School teacher and leader of the Women's Circle. She was known for teaching many Sunday School lessons in first person.

She was also a member of the West Sonora Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star. She was appointed Grand Representative to South Dakota for the Eastern Star.

Surviving are one son, Ronald L. Kuszmaul (wife: Shirley) of Deer Creek; one daughter, Karmen Kuszmaul of Lafayette; one sister, Mary E. Smith of Deer Creek; seven grandchildren, Jacquelyn Lambert (husband: Robert) of Sheridan, Gwendolyn Steckley of Indianapolis, Eric Kuszmaul of Fort Wayne, Susan Collins (husband: Bryan) of Kokomo, Robert E. Lee Jr. of Kokomo, Janet Guenther (husband: Jerry) of Florida, and Mike Sheagley (wife: Lisa) of Virginia.

Also surviving are 15 greatgrandchildren, Cameron and Keaton Lambert of Sheridan, Seth Fisher of Carmel, Brandon Freeman of Logansport, Amber and Kara Steckley of Carmel, Devyn Johnson of Kokomo, Amber, Sydney and Chelsea Collins of Kokomo, Erynne Lee of Markle, Jordan Sheagley of Virginia, January LaClaire (husband: Josh) of Florida, Joy Weeks (husband: Josh) of North Carolina, and Jessica Guenther of Florida, along with one great-great-grandson, Jeremy Weeks, of North Carolina.

Three brothers, two sisters and one daughter preceded her in death.

Services will be held today, Wednesday, at 10 a.m. at the Deer Creek Presbyterian Church. The Reverend Cheryl Montgomery will officiate and burial will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.

Reinke Funeral Home, Flora, is in charge of arrangements.
