Manning records diving successes in first season at Bucknell
Jeff Manning, a 2005 graduate of Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School, recently completed his first diving season at Bucknell University, Lewisburg, Pa., by competing in the Patriot League Championships held at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
Manning finished 10th on the one-meter board and 11th on the three-meter board, helping the Bucknell's men's team to a third place finish. The teams competing with Bucknell were: Army, Navy, American University, Holy Cross, Colgate, Lehigh and Lafayette.
Manning was one of only three men's divers from his team chosen to compete in this event.
During the season, Manning placed third in Bucknell's AllTime Record Book for both one and three-meter with scores of 253.3 for six dives on onemeter and 229.73 on threemeter. The Bucknell team finished the season ranked 18th in the country on College Swimming.com Division 1 Mid-Major Polls.
Manning was also one of 253 Bucknell University student Athletes to earn dean's list honors for the fall semester. Students must earn at least a 3.50 grade point average on a 4.0 scale for selection to the dean's list.
At CJSHS, Manning won the diving event at the Lafayette Sectional three years in a row. He won the regional his senior year and participated in the state championship both his junior and senior year.
