Charles W. Hill
Charles W. "Chuck" Hill, 66, of 605 N. Wilson St., Delphi, died unexpectedly at 11:04 a.m. on March 26, 2006, at his residence.
Born in Clinton County on May 29, 1939, he was the son of David W. and Dorothy Schimmel Hill. He attended the former Michigantown schools.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1957 to 1960, working in munitions.
His marriage was to Clara M. Phillips in Kirkland on Feb. 10, 1958, and she survives.
Mr. Hill worked for the former Harmason Manufacturing Plant in Frankfort for several years, retiring due to his health.
He enjoyed woodworking and gardening.
Surviving with his wife are five sons, Robert "Rob" Leisha Hill (wife: Leisha), James Hill (wife: Liz), Kenny Hill (wife: Susan), all of Delphi, David Hill (wife: Lisa) of Burrows, Chris Hill (wife: Izzy) of Bloomington; three daughters, Tina Hill (companion: Teresa Sisson) of Bringhurst, Cindy Heath (husband: Jeff) of Indianapolis and Kathy Albaugh (husband: Phil) of Kokomo; his mother, Dorothy Hill Cambridge of Frankfort; a brother, Jerry Hill (wife: Connie) of Frankfort; two sisters, Rita Wallace (husband: Denny) of Missouri and Nina Davis (husband: Richard) of Forest; 20 grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Services are today at 10 a.m. at Abbott Funeral Home, with Pastor Nick Clark officiating. Burial with Delphi American Legion and VFW military rites will be at Whiteman Cemetery in Michigantown.
