Geraldine D. Shaff Cook, 91, died at 11:30 p.m. on March 23, 2006, at White County Memorial Hospital, where she had been patient since March 9.

Born in Cass County on Feb. 18, 1915, she was the daughter of Carl and Mabel Jones Shaff. She was 1933 graduate of the former Onward High School in Cass County.

Her marriage was to Joseph A. Cook in Gas City, on Jan. 21, 1936, and he preceded her in death on May 20, 1993.

Mrs. Cook had lived in rural Carroll County for 30 years. She had lived at Carroll Manor Home in Delphi for the past five years and had worked there for 10 years, earlier in her life.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Westside flower club in Delphi, and a former member of the ladies auxiliary of the Eagles Lodge.

Mrs. Cook enjoyed music, euchre card games, cooking, flowerand vegetable-gardening, and sports.

Surviving are two daughters, Rose Mary Lybrook (husband: Charles) of Delphi and Janice Roth (husband: James) of Yeoman; two sons, Craig Cook (wife: Nikki) of Brookston and Jerry A. Cook of Cape Coral, Fla.; a sister, Dierdre Strube of Fulton; a brother, Sam Shaff (wife: Lucile) of Logansport; a sister-inlaw, Helen Shaff of Logansport; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, David; an adult son, Philip; a brother, Don; an infant brother, Carl; and three grandchildren.

Services were Monday at Abbott Funeral Home, with burial at Hopewell Cemetery in Deer Creek.
