Catherine Peterson, 75, died at 6 a.m. Feb. 27, 2006, at Milner Community Health Care Center. She had resided there since Dec. 15, 2005.

Born March 11, 1929, in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of Frank and Lydia Masamer Sparrow. She married Bernhart E. Peterson on Aug. 31, 1950. He preceded her in death on March 31. 1990.

Mrs. Peterson lived with a daughter in Flora from June 2005 until moving to the health care center. She lived most of her life in Kewadin, Mich.

She was a cashier for Eddie's Supermarket in Baltimore, Md., until retiring in 1984 after 22 years of employment. She later worked for the Village Market in Elk Rapids, Mich., for two years.

She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Elk Rapids.

Surviving are three daughters, Sharon Hancock (husband: James) of Flora, Marion C. Fluhr (husband: Lee) of Glen Burnie, Md., and Karen M. Robison of Brooklyn, Md.; one sister, June Fishcher of Baltimore, Md.; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.

Services and burial were March 3 in Traverse City, Mich.
