The Camden Town Council repealed an outdated ordinance and passed a replacement controlling licensing of certain activities within the town.

Burlington Town Council held a lengthy discussion on annexation and housing development at its March 11 meeting. The discussion was brought by recent construction of a home outside the city limits and was connected to the town's sewage system with an agreement to be annexed. 25 YEARS AGO

E.Parke Randall of the Pecsok Jelliffe & Randall architect firm in Indianapolis discussed plans for a new jail in Carroll County at the commissioners' meeting Monday.

A resident from north Delphi appeared before Delphi City Council to inquire what can be done about unkempt property such as junk and trash in that area.

A public auction to raise money for new restrooms in Burrows will be held March 28. Liberty Township Community Club will sponsor the auction of donated items. 50 YEARS AGO

A meeting concerned directly with the Burlington school, but which in an indirect way touches the school program of all township systems in the county, is to be held Friday night, March 16.

At that time, a general overall study of the Carroll County schools will be made with several experts present to answer technical questions

Carroll County will be host to the eight county organizations within the third Farm Bureau district at a meeting to be held in Delphi on March 21 at the Presbyterian Church. 75 YEARS AGO The uniform prosecutors' salary measure, basis of several heated disputes in the course of its passage through the two houses of the 1931 legislature, was one of several important measures signed Friday by Governor Harry G. Leslie. Under the provisions of the measure, salaries of all the prosecuting attorneys in Indiana are fixed.

Robert E. Stults of Gary has purchased the lease for the Arc Theatre in Delphi of George Kendall and has made satisfactory arrangements with Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Gardner, owners for the remodeling and redecorating of the interior of the theatre. 100 YEARS AGO

Idaville has not always borne its present name, but for a time was known as "Hanna" in honor of its founder, Andrew Hanna, but there being another town of that name in the state (in LaPorte county), another name was necessary upon the establishment of a post office, and it was named Idaville in honor of Ida, the handsome and talented daughter of Rev. J.C. Callahan, the first resident minister.
