Everett Dean Angle, son of Wayne and Mary (Skiles) Angle, was born Oct. 1, 1947, in Modesto, Calif. He passed away on Feb. 13, 2006, at his home in Atwater, Calif., at the age of 58 years, 4 months, and 12 days.

He was united in marriage to Dorothy Gissom in 1998.

At the age of 13, Merle and Leah Garber welcomed Everett Dean into their home as part of their family circle. During this time he was baptized into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church, although he was no longer in their fellowship at the time of his passing.

He had a real love for the great outdoors. He often went up to the mountains into the backcountry to fish and hunt. His favorite place was Kennedy Meadows. He was happiest when he was working. He had a tender heart and real love for his family and friends.

He had a kidney transplant in 2001. He was able to return to work for a period of time. After that, his health declined. In October 2005 he underwent bypass surgery.

Those left to mourn are his wife; his mother, of Flora; his children, Vicky Baker and husband John of Ceres, Calif., and their children, Zachery and Daniel; Robin and wife Sandra of Chowchilla, Calif.; stepson, Chris Gillard of Idaho; three sisters, Beverly and Max Kelly of Flora, Rebecca Boone of Rocky Mountain, Va., and Juanita and Stephen Peters of Peru; and his children’s mother, Anita Angle of Modesto.

Preceding him in death were his father, a grandson, John Adam Baker, and a brother-in-law, Jimmie Boone.

Services were held Feb. 18 at the Brethren Community Fellowship in Modesto, with Bruce Hoblit officiating. He was laid to rest at Wood Colony Cemetery in Modesto.
