A celebration of life for Joan McPherson, 65, of Anderson, was

held Sunday H o l l y w o o E s t a t e s Anderson.

She died 11:50 a.m. Feb. 23, 2006, at St. John’s Health System in Anderson following a brief illness. Born Aug. 1, 1940, Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Bruce Wallace and Bernardine Amanda Kelso Connelley. She married Dick McPherson in 1960.

Mrs. McPherson co-owned Split Ends Beauty Salon Anderson, which sponsored the Diabetes Cut-a-thon. She was professional hair stylist for 46 years and had many devoted friends. She received an award for first place in the State Styling Competition, Indianapolis, along with many local awards.

She was a member of the National Hairdressers Association.

Surviving are two sons, Sol McPherson and Ken McPherson, both of Anderson; and one sister, Patricia Bierman of Encino, Calif.

Reinke Funeral Home, Flora, was in charge of arrangements.
