Smith signs with Pilots

Joe Smith, a senior point guard at Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School, has signed a letter of intent to continue his athletic and academic careers at Bethel College.

Smith is an integral part of the Cougar team as he averages 12 points per game with 4 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals. He was an All-Hoosier Heartland Conference selection in his sophomore an junior seasons. As a junior, he was All-Loganland, Kokomo area, and Lafayette area. As a sophomore, he was named to the All-Loganland team and was the defensive MVP.

“Joe is an outstanding young man,” said Bethel head coach Mike Lightfoot. “He comes from a great home and he is a solid fit for Bethel College. We like Joe’s work ethic and his competitive personality. We are excited to have Joe in our program.”

Smith was also all-conference, all-area, and All-Loganland in football and baseball and has been nominated for academic allstate.
