Comet staff report
Clinton County Circuit Court Judge Linley Pearson will preside in the trial of Rebecca Lohmiller. A date has not yet been set for the former county nurse who is accused of forgery and practicing nursing without a license.
Carroll Circuit Court Judge Donald Currie excused himself from the case due to conflict and Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Smith also declined to preside over the case necessitating an outside judge.
Lohmiller’s attorney, Anne Briggs, has indicated in past interviews that the case will go to trial and that she will not agree to a plea.
Lohmiller worked as a parttime county nurse from Nov. 8, 1999, until March 31, 2001. At that time she was hired on a fulltime basis and worked until her resignation Oct. 1, 2004.
