Ruth L. Walters, 85, of Delphi, died at 10:10 a.m. on Dec. 14, 2005, at St. Elizabeth H e a l t h c a r e Center in

Delphi.

Born in Roselawn on Dec. 11, 1920, she was the daughter of Ross A. and Roselyn Swartzell Thompson. She was a 1939 graduate of Delphi High School and attended nurses’ training in Hammond from 1939 to 1940.

Her marriage was to William Walters on July 7, 1940 in Delphi, and he died on Oct. 13, 1998.

Mrs. Walters was the secretary to the principal at Hillcrest Elementary School until 1985.

She was a member of Delphi Christian Church and enjoyed working in her yard.

Surviving is a brother, Lee Thompson of Delphi; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, William Douglas in 1954; two brothers; and two sisters.

Services were Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home, with burial at IOOF Cemetery in Delphi.
