Wilma M. Shaffer, 92, of Logansport, died at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 18, 2005, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport.

1913, in Young

America, she was the daughter of Frank and Bertha Wertz Ridenour. Her marriage to Robert Edwin Shaffer was on Sept. 15, 1934, in Indianapolis, and he preceded her in death on July 23, 1997.

Ahomemaker, Mrs. Shaffer was a former postmaster at the Burrows Post Office.

She graduated from Logansport High School in 1931.

She was a member of the Burrows Christian Church and the Walton Order of the Eastern Star #184.

Surviving are a daughter, Janet Swanson (husband: Carl) of Reno, Nev.; a son, Bobbie Shaffer (wife: Bobbi) of Vero Beach, Fla.; a brother, David “Dick” Ridenour of Phoenix, Ariz.; two granddaughters, LeAnn Socie (husband: Andrew) of Vero Beach, Fla., and Sue Anderson (husband: Doug) of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; a grandson, Robert Shaffer (wife: Debbie) of South Lyon, Mich.; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Lewis Ridenour; a sister, Helen Kumler; and a granddaughter, Kim Brisbois.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today, Wednesday, at Gundrum Funeral Home, Logansport, with Pastor Phillip Conn officiating. Burial will be at Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Logansport.

The family suggests that memorials be made to the donor’s favorite charity.
