Mona (Rice) Weller, 81, of Indianapolis, formerly of Rossville, died at 10:13 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at Forum at the Crossing.

Born Nov. 26, 1930, in South Bend, she was the daughter of Clifford and Frances (Spanier) Rice. On Jan. 16, 1954, she married Ralph Dean Weller, M.D., who preceded her in death on April 20, 1996.

Carolyn Madge (Freeland) Young, 77, of Kokomo, died at 2:20 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, at Century Villa Health Care in Greentown.

She was born Jan. 9, 1935, in Kokomo, to Owen H. and Jesse Josephine (Swaim) Freeland. She is a 1953 graduate Northwestern High School and served as senior class secretary. She graduated from Indiana University Kokomo in 1974 with a teaching degree.

Kathy Underwood Certain, 59, of Flora, passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 1, 2012, at St. Elizabeth Central Hospital in Lafayette.

Born Dec. 11, 1952, in Roanoke, Va., she was the daughter of Lloyd H. and Mary Browning Underwood. She attended Lafayette Jefferson High School. On Nov. 9, 1973, in Lafayette, she married Claude Certain and he survives in Flora.

Jayne A. Palmer

Jayne Ann Palmer, 67, of Jensen Beach, Fla., died Jan. 24, 2012, at Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart, Fla.

Jayne had a career in education and formerly taught at Camden Elementary School.

Surviving is her husband of 47 years, Norman Palmer, and a daughter, Jennifer Weekman of Jensen Beach, Fla.
